Fighting acne can be expensive, especially if you can’t seem to find a cream or other acne treatment solution that works for you. While over the counter products can be very helpful in clearing up your acne, there are some home remedies that work very well, too. Making a home made acne mask is one way of fighting acne without spending a lot of money on acne solutions.

One of these home made masks is made out of baking soda and water. All you have to do is mix up the baking soda and water together and daub it on your face. Then you let the mixture set for around ten to fifteen minutes before washing it off.

Oatmeal is another great, cheap way of dealing with acne. A mask made out of oatmeal helps clear out your pores and remove any excess oil on your skin. Just mix the oatmeal with water, apply it, and wash it off after the oatmeal dries.

Another, slightly more complex mask recipe is to purchase fuller’s earth, distilled witch hazel, and tincture of benzoin. Mix half a cup of fuller’s earth, a teaspoon of the tincture, and a bit of witch hazel together. After applying the mast, let it set for 30 to 45 minutes. By this time, the mask should have hardened. Use a damp towel to gently remove the mixture and then wash your face.

One final acne mask recipe involves two teaspoons of died basil leaves. Steep the leaves in boiling water for 15 to 20 minutes. Let the water cool, and then daub it on your face with a cotton ball. This “mask” doesn’t require washing off, so you’re free to use as much of the mixture as you’d like.
